DRYING SYSTEMS

SPE Drying Systems

The Teaford Company has teamed up with Dieffenbacher in the North American market to be able to provide a complete energy and drying package with the Schenkmann-Piel (SPE) dryer line. The SPE dryer is known for having low outlet temperatures, large drying capacities, low specific energy requirements, large inlet and outlet temperature gradients and high standard of operating safety and reliability. Together with a Teaford wet biomass combustion system and SPE dryer we can provide an outstanding drying package for pellet plants, OSB, MDF, particleboard or other biomass drying application. The dryer and energy system are custom designed for any application depending on the drying material.

Rotary Dryers

The rotary dryers can be sized up to 23 feet in diameter or as small as 6.5 feet. The energy and drying system can be sized up to 158,000 PPH of bone dry material with 143,000 PPH of water evaporation in a single system. Internals are designed based on material to ensure optimal drying conditions. Minimal air leakage due to SPE proven seal technology is a trademark for the SPE rotary dryers. SPE can design the dryer with a high efficiency cyclone or SPE designed drop out box. Teaford can provide a biomass combustion system with either burning a high moisture content fuel on Teaford style reciprocating grate or with a dry sanderdust burner and combustion chamber. Check with us today for your pellet, OSB, MDF, particleboard or other biomass drying application.

Flash Tube Dryers

Flash tube dryers are designed around the MDF and HDF board lines. Wet material is injected via a blow line into the dryer, dried to the desired moisture content and pneumatically conveyed through the dryer tube. High performance cyclones separate the gas stream from the fibers, which are discharged via rotary valves. Exhaust gas is either vented into atmosphere or to a secondary dedusting system. Part of the gas is then recirculated and the other is cleaned by air abatement equipment. SPE flash tube dryers are sized up to 110,000 PPH bone dry material and are known for their low inlet temperatures and high throughput. The dryers can be heated directly from a Teaford biomass combustion furnace and reciprocating grate. Call us to find out more about how an SPE flash tube dryer can help with your plants needs.

Superheated Steam Dryers

The superheated steam fiber dryer operates in a closed loop system. Wet biomass is injected via the blow line and dried in the closed superheated steam loop to the desired moisture content. Dried fiber is discharged through a rotary airlock to improve air loss and maintain a sealed environment. The recirculated steam passes through a heat exchanger for superheating before used for drying again. Superheated steam dryers can be used with any type biomass from wood to other agricultural materials. Single systems up to 55,000 PPH bone dry material. A Teaford biomass combustion system would heat the other side of the heat exchanger and lower the emissions requirements required because of the closed dryer loop. Check with us to see if a superheated steam dryer is the right biomass drying application for you.
