BIOMASS FIRED FURNACES

The Teaford Company is the industry leader in biomass combustion using reciprocating grate technology.  The Teaford reciprocating grate is known for its conservative design allowing for excellent fuel combustion efficiency and low maintenance. The reciprocating grates are hydraulically driven with variable frequency drives to improve control of the combustion system.  The furnace is combined with a lower gasification chamber and an upper combustion chamber, which allows for low emissions and precise control of the combustion process. The Teaford Company furnaces have excellent retention times and furnace volumes to further allow for excellent emission control.

The Teaford Company biomass fired furnaces are sized up to 275 MMBtu/hr LHV in a single furnace.  Direct fired furnaces are used in the OSB, MDF, particleboard and pellet plant industries.  Combine Teaford’s biomass fired furnace with an SPE rotary dryer for a complete energy and drying system for OSB, particleboard or pellet mills. A Teaford lumber dry kiln can also be fired directly with a biomass fired furnace. The biomass fired furnace is also used with a Teaford style steam boiler or thermal oil heater for a complete indirect heating system for cogeneration systems, thermal oil presses, heat exchangers or other processes.
